General

This ancient house is something rather special. We love the simplicity and history of this house. It is situated within the narrow streets of the old town of Rhodes and as you walk to the house you feel a sense that you are stepping back in time. The house was probably built around 1300, so it is really special. The house will be perfect for two families as it has two bathrooms and two kitchens on two separate floors although it still works perfectly as one large traditional town house. The name Honeysuckle is the name of the climbing plant with amazingly smelling flowers that is growing in the courtyard all the way up, hence the name.
Downstairs there is a large living room with a small kitchenette area attached and then you step out into a beautiful and luscious green courtyard with dining area, where you can access a double bedded room and a bathroom. There are also large mattresses on the couches, that could sleep another 2 if you are not too fussy. Upstairs you have a relaxed open dining space like a patio from which you can access a bathroom with bath tub, the kitchen, the master bedroom and the second bedroom, but also go up another floor onto the roof terrace.

Outside

The House has a beautiful small courtyard with table downstairs. From the upper living area you can go up to the roof terraces. The first one has a beautiful old wooden couch, BBQ and table and then you go up a few steps more to the top terrace where you can relax on the sun loungers while looking all across the old city of Rhodes and down to the harbour. On a clear day the view extends all the way to Turkey.

Our stay at Honeysuckle Residence was exactly what our two families needed as a base to explore Rhodes and surrounding islands. It is a location that does not require a car and you can explore the rest of the island on foot, by ferry or bus. The accomodation was flexible so we could arrange beds and sleeping arrangements to suit us. The house, amenities, bedding and towels were all clean and very functional. The decor gave the house a lovely holiday feel. We had https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4849900

We immediately felt ‘home’. We lived most of the time in the Upper Side of Gudrun house, like in NY, attracted by the light and the windy air coming through the patio. We gave water to the plants embracing it to let them keep releasing the fresh and alive beauty at every breakfast while we were sitting https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4849900

We had the most amazing stay at Honeysuckle Residence. A beautifully presented, quaint and original medieval home, oozing ambiance, charm and character. It was clean and spacious, and offered a great indoor/ outdoor feel. The multi-level layout along with loads of natural light and the rooftop terrace were fantastic features. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4849900
